When Valtech, a rapidly expanding digital marketing agency, started a search for a new office, they finally decided in favour of the ‘Kauwgomballenfabriek’ in Amsterdam. This historic, bustling and easily accessible part of the city, with a hotel just around the corner for their foreign colleagues, ticked all the boxes.
Inspired by the industrial character of the former gumball factory and the surrounding buildings, we designed a ruggedly robust office interior on the 2nd floor. An interior that lends itself to working in project teams of varying composition.
One of the most striking features is the atrium: a steel structure clad with glass that connects two buildings. The oblique lines of the atrium have been subtly integrated into the interior so that a new space, which was not part of the office initially, can now be used for various forms of informal consultation.
