Enjoying your job depends on a variety of factors. The one we know best is the place where people work. Or where work can happen. Because the capacity for activity-based work is no longer a pipe dream, but has long since become a requirement: employees assume by default that in a workspace they will have the freedom and facilities to come together and exchange knowledge, to focus and to relax. The principle of choosing a space that best matches your activity only has added value if it is made based on a clear workplace strategy.
This workplace strategy is a central part of the development of workplace concepts in which the three aspects of ‘bricks, bytes and behaviour’ play a role. Our expertise and responsibilities revolve primarily around the ‘bricks’. Ultimately, we are a specialist in creating optimal housing for organisations. However, when looking at behaviour, we also live up to our responsibility by including clients, literally and figuratively, in a workspace journey: what happens in a workspace between 7:15 am and 6:55 pm? And why? A welcome process of awareness on the way to what an organisation wants. And the degree to which the organisation is willing and able to take the first steps. The necessity of the ‘bytes’ is also clear – the value and the lifetime of a workplace is determined in large part by the technology and IT infrastructures. But although we do not claim that this is our primary area of expertise, we have many parties in our network who do.
